In preparation for the upcoming holidays, the IndieCommerce team has put together a list of recommended features that stores can use to promote products and sell their gifts and non-book items. There are several ways to ensure customers have the widest selection and access to your online products, making your website shoppable and easy to browse.

Catalogs
Stores have the option to display ABA curated  catalogs or create a catalog of their own. The ABA offers digital access to the ABC Catalog of Best Books for Young Readers as well as digital copies of holiday catalogs from the various regions..
Stores also  have the option to construct their own catalog showcasing selected titles or collections of sidelines. Our catalog feature is an easy way to build your own virtual catalog of showcased products (books and  custom products).

Wish Lists
This feature is a great way for customers to build personal wishlists to keep track of books to read, wish lists to share with family and friends, or even for teachers to build gift registries. Customers also have the ability to have multiple wish lists on your website along with a variety of other settings to help control their list.

Gift Cards
Gift cards make excellent last minute gifts. Did you know that you can sell gift cards - physical and digital - online? Using one of our many gift card features, it’s easy! You can sell your store’s physical gift cards online and allow customers to choose amount  and even include a gift message.
  • Gift Cards (IndieCommerce and IndieLite)

    • This option will allow you to sell your store’s physical, plastic gift cards (or paper gift certificate) through your IndieCommerce or IndieLite website. Simply create the gift card as a product and link to the gift card through a block or a menu link.
  • Givex (IndieCommerce ONLY)

    • If you use Givex for gift cards,  you can sell these gift cards through your website, either as physical or digital gift cards.! For digital gift cards, customers can select a delivery date to have the gift card emailed to the recipient.   and even select a delivery date.
  • Online Gift Codes (IndieCommerce ONLY)

    • Using this feature, customers can purchase an online only gift code card through your IndieCommerce website and the system will automatically generate a gift code to send to the recipient. These codes can only be used on your store’s website and can be set to deliver on a certain date!

The holidays are a perfect time to sell sidelines and gifts through IndieCommerce or IndieLite. Yes, these are available for IndieLite stores too!
