At times, you may need to create an order on behalf of your customer. The instructions below guide you through doing so for both existing customers and new customers.

Navigate to:  Store > Orders > Create Order

EXISTING CUSTOMERS

  1. Select ‘Search for an existing customer’
  2. Complete the ‘customer search’ form
  3. Select ‘Search’
  4. Select the appropriate customer from the search results
  5. Select ‘Create Order’
  6. If the form has pulled in any saved customer information verify it, if not, move to step 7.
  7. Complete the Order form:

    1. Ship to  - You can choose from a list of 'Ship to' addresses if the customer had previously placed an order on the site
    2. Tax Exempt (optional)
    3. Bill To  - You can choose from a list of 'Ship to' addresses if the customer had previously placed an order on the site
    4. Payment method
  8. Add the products

    1. Click the 'Add Product' button.
    2. Input the ISBN, and click 'Search'. - Search can be keyword also, title, author, etc.
    3. Select the appropriate item from the search results and click the 'Select' button.
    4. The title will then appear in a box above the other order items, with a 'Qty' field. Enter the appropriate quantity and select ‘Add to Order’.
    5. Select ‘Submit Changes’ at the bottom of the page
    •  Repeat a-c until all items have been added.
  9. Get Shipping Quotes

    1. Click ‘Get Shipping Quotes’ button below the order total and choose the radio button for the correct shipping method,
    2. Click 'Apply to Order' to update it. 
  10. Submit Changes

NOTE:  Creating an order on behalf of a customer works best for Pay at Store / Credit Card payment. You can find more information regarding credit card authorization here 'Re-Authorizing A Credit Card'.

The order is now placed and can be processed as normal.

NEW CUSTOMER

  1. Select ‘Create a new customer account’
  2. Enter the customer email address
  3. Select ‘Email account details to customer’ (recommended)
  4. Select ‘Create Order’
  5. Complete the Order form:

    1. Ship to
    2. Tax Exempt (optional)
    3. Bill To
    4. Payment method
  6. Add the products

    1. Input the ISBN, and click 'Search'. - Search can be keyword also, title, author, etc.
    2. Select the appropriate item from the search results and click the 'Select' button.
    3. The title will then appear in a box above the other order items, with a 'Qty' field. Enter the appropriate quantity and select ‘Add to Order’. 

      • Repeat a-c until all items have been added.
  7. Get Shipping Quotes

    1. Click ‘Get Shipping Quotes’ button below the order total and choose the radio button for the correct shipping method,
    2. Click 'Apply to Order' to update it.
  8. Submit Changes

NOTE: New orders using a credit card cannot be processed until the customer enters their credit card information to their account. You can find more information regarding those steps here 'Re-Authorizing A Credit Card'.

The order is now placed and can be processed as normal.

ADD A COUPON

  1. Fill the ‘Coupon Code’ field with the preferred coupon code (haven’t created the coupon code yet? See instructions here Discount Coupons)
  2. Select ‘Apply Coupon to order’  - you should see a green confirmation message at the top of the screen that a discount has been applied.
  3. Click ‘Get Shipping Quotes’ button below the order total and choose the radio button for the correct shipping method, (You must take this step even when the shipping cost is $0.00)
  4. Select ‘Submit Changes’
