The July Book Sense Notables list, with booksellers' quotes, is now available in a downloadable PDF flier on BookWeb.org. The flier includes jacket images, bibliographic information, and bookseller quotes. These additional 20 titles are also featured in an electronic file of shelf-talkers for in-store use.
 Left Bank Books, an independent, full-service bookstore in the St. Louis, Missouri, metropolitan area, is expanding. Its turn-of-the-century neighborhood in the historic Central West End of the city is the lively home to a mix of fine restaurants, galleries, and cafés.
 To help educate both children and their parents about the importance of free speech, the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (ABFFE) is inviting booksellers to insert a flier about the efforts to censor books in the Harry Potter series in the new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which has an on-sale date of Saturday, July 16.
 Limited edition Harry Potter Book Sense gift cards are still available and are ready to ship immediately. All cards can be ordered with or without store imprints. But booksellers interested in offering their customers special, limited edition Harry Potter Book Sense gift cards should order now, as supplies are limited. Orders must be placed through the booksenseorders.givex.com web page.
 On Friday, June 10, BookSense.com moved its servers to a new location, closer to ABA's office, allowing for easier maintenance and resulting in significant cost savings. BookSense.com sites were brought down at approximately 2:30 Eastern Time on Friday afternoon and were made live again at about midnight on the same day. Total down time was just under 10 hours.

Late Saturday afternoon -- after two and a half days of busy trade show activities -- the Book Sense Reading room offered a literary respite for BookExpo America attendees. From 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., four of independent booksellers' favorite authors, including two Book Sense Book of the Year winners, read from their works. The featured authors were:
 HarperPerennial is relaunching this summer with a new logo, new jackets, most titles with P.S. sections, and an in-store display kit. Also included in this campaign is HarperPerennial's limited edition To Kill a Mockingbird Book Sense Gift Card and coordinating presenter. This new gift card design has room to add bookstore information and makes a great gift idea for teachers, librarians, students, and book lovers.
Continuing the success of past years' Book Sense Autographing sessions, the ABA/Book Sense Lounge (Room 1E 07-08 at the Javits Center) will be the place to go for autographed books from some of independent booksellers' favorite authors. On Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4, at BEA, authors whose works have appeared on the Book Sense Picks lists will be available to sign their books and meet booksellers.

 ABA "Day of Education" Plenary Session
POS vendor WordStock recently announced that it has developed an interface to support full access to the Book Sense Gift Card Program. Booksellers must have high-speed Internet access and WordStock version 4.20C in order to integrate with WordStock. Installation fees will vary, and there is a $20 monthly fee in addition other Book Sense gift cards fees.

Here's an important reminder for all booksellers with Book Sense: Effective June 1, less than a week away, bookstores must stop selling Book Sense paper gift certificates. Any Book Sense Paper gift certificate sold and dated after June 1, 2005, will not be valid and will not be considered for reimbursement. However, in order to protect consumers, booksellers will still be required to accept valid paper gift certificates sold prior to that date as per local/state laws and other criteria set forth by Book Sense.
