“Stamped” Book Club With Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi Begins Today
Throughout the month of May, students and readers are invited to join authors Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi for a virtual book club to discuss Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You: A Remix of the National Book Award-winning Stamped From the Beginning (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers).
The book club will be moderated by Hannah Oliver Depp, owner of Loyalty Bookstore in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Each week, Reynolds and Kendi will review the book chapter by chapter.
An educator curriculum is available for students and readers to download on BookWeb.org, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Additionally, ABA has created a variety of assets that booksellers can use to promote the book club.
The first event took place this afternoon, May 6; events will continue from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET on May 13, May 20, and May 27. Readers can join the conversation on Zoom; the registration link is available now.
