New card to celebrate Ann M. Martin's Main Street Series coming soon

The popular Mary Engelbreit design "A Book Is a Present You Can Open Again and Again" is now available on Book Sense gift cards and presenters. The design also continues to be featured on a traditional paper card that can be used as either a gift certificate or as a greeting card, with space for a gift card.

The Mary Engelbreit gift card and presenter can be ordered at standard program costs, along with all other gift card designs, at booksenseorders.givex.com. The paper card design may be ordered via a an order form on BookWeb.org.

Later this fall, stores participating in the Book Sense Gift Card Program will be able to celebrate Ann M. Martin's Main Street series with a new gift card sponsored by Scholastic Inc. The card will capture the beauty of the series' fictional town, Camden Falls, Massachusetts. Watch for an announcement in an upcoming edition of Bookselling This Week.

A limited number of Penguin Young Readers Group-sponsored cards featuring Judy Schachner's Skippyjon Jones or Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka are still available. Penguin Young Readers Group is covering the cost of the cards (22 cents), transaction fees (50 cents), and presenters (8 cents). To allow as many booksellers as possible to take advantage of this special limited offer, bookstores may order either the Skippyjon Jones card or the Roald Dahl card, but not both. Orders will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Quantities are limited to 100 generic cards and matching presenters or 250 imprinted cards and matching presenters per company. Booksellers will be charged the usual fee to add an imprint, if desired, and all other associated Book Sense Gift Card program costs and fees, including increments, shipping, and handling.

The American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression's Freadom gift card is on its way to stores that signed up to sell the card in exchange for a donation back to ABFEE. The cards are perfect for Banned Books Week and other promotions against censorship and in favor of First Amendment rights.
