We Need Diverse Books is launching an award honoring a bookseller or group of booksellers at a store that best exemplifies the nonprofit’s mission to promote diversity in children’s literature.

Next Tuesday, January 31, is the last day for booksellers at ABA member stores that did not have a Children’s Institute scholarship winner in 2015 or 2016 to apply for a scholarship to this April’s event.

Registration for the fifth ABC Children’s Institute opened last Wednesday, January 11. Space is limited, and there is a maximum of five registrants per ABA member business.

ABA is currently accepting applications for publisher-sponsored scholarships to the 2017 ABC Children’s Institute, to be held in April in Portland, Oregon.
