As part of this year's Day of Education at BookExpo America, booksellers have the opportunity to go on afternoon bookstore tours. Two tours are being offered from 1:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28: one to Soho's McNally Jackson Booksellers and another heading uptown to Bank Street Bookstore and Book Culture (near Columbia University).
 BookExpo America will once again feature free education and networking opportunities developed specifically for African-American book industry professionals. The program, which begins at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at the Javits Convention Center, is open to all BEA registered attendees; pre-registration for the African-American program is not required.
Fifty of independent booksellers' favorite authors will be at this year's ABA Celebration of Bookselling Luncheon at BookExpo America. The Friday, May 29, event, open exclusively to the owners and staff at ABA member stores, will feature the presentation of the inaugural Indies Choice Book Awards (ICBA).

 The American Booksellers Association today announced a new, lower room rate for all ABA members reserving accommodations at this year's Hotel ABA -- the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn. The Hotel ABA room rate has been cut from $183 to $159, a savings of $24 per night.

The program is designed for those who are considering becoming bookstore owners, either through the purchase of an existing store or with the establishment of a new business.
This week, the American Booksellers Association announced the addition of two new sessions to its Day of Education lineup at BookExpo America.
