 On Monday, May 11, BookExpo America (BEA) unveiled much of the programming for its new show-floor Author Stages. Between 35 and 40 authors are scheduled to appear on the Author Stages, and more than 700 authors will participate in some form of official BEA event.
 During a 48-hour span at BookExpo America, Perseus Books Group will publish BOOK: The Sequel, a collection of first sentences submitted by the public for yet-to-be-written sequels to any book ever published. The rapid-fire, multi-formatted creation of BOOK will demonstrate, right on the trade show floor, that publishing is agile and tech-current.
Here's a slew of details about the Hotel ABA Welcome Desk, the Day of Education session materials, and the ABA booksellers-only Lounge and Bag Check Room, both at the Javits Convention Center -- all to help make ABA members' lives easier at BookExpo America.
Interactive, online catalogs are coming this fall, and booksellers and others will have an opportunity to see how they'll work during BookExpo America. Demonstrations of Edelweiss will be presented by Above the Treeline at Booth #4130 on the trade show floor, and on Friday and Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in Room 1E02 on the lower concourse (just down the hall from the ABA Lounge) at the Javits Convention Center.
Ana M. Ma, chief of staff at the U.S. Small Business Administration, will be one of the featured speakers at a new ABA session at BookExpo America, "How SBA and the Federal Stimulus Package Can Help Your Business," to be held Saturday, May 30, from 10:30 a.m. - noon, at the Javits Convention Center.
John Rubin, the founder and CEO of Above the Treeline, will hold demonstrations of Edelweiss, an online, interactive catalog system developed by Above the Treeline, at BookExpo America.
