On Friday, May 30, ReedPOP will host the kickoff for BookCon, its interactive consumer book event taking place the following day in conjunction with BEA.

ABA member booksellers are encouraged to sign up to take advantage of two new opportunities to network with publishers at BEA: Meet the Editor Meetings and One-on-One Publisher Meetings.

The Annual Children’s Book Art Auction and Reception to benefit ABFFE will be hosted this year by bestselling author and illustrator Jarrett J. Krosoczka. The auction will be held on Wednesday evening, May 28, at BEA.

To be entered into a drawing for free hotel nights at Hotel ABA (the Grand Hyatt New York) for BEA 2014, ABA member booksellers must book their rooms by midnight EDT on Monday, April 7.

ReedPOP, Reed Expositions’ pop culture events group, has announced the launch of BookCon, “a one-of-a-kind interactive consumer experience,” to be held on the last day of this year’s BookExpo America.

Preregistration is required for select ABA and ABC Children’s Group programming at this year’s BookExpo America, including two new events designed to provide booksellers with more opportunities to network with publishers.

Bookstores that book a room at the special member rate at this year’s Hotel ABA for BEA 2014 by midnight EDT on Monday, April 7, will automatically be entered into a drawing for free hotel nights.

To secure the special rate at Hotel ABA for BEA 2014, stores must book their rooms by midnight EDT on March 31. Every store that makes a reservation will be entered into a random drawing for free hotel nights, courtesy of BEA.

Up to three booksellers per ABA member store can now book their reservations for ABA’s 2014 Celebration of Bookselling and Author Awards Lunch, to be held on Thursday, May 29, at BEA.

Today, ABA announced its educational programming and special events for BookExpo America 2014 via a dedicated mini-site on BookWeb.org. This year’s ABA programming will take place over all four days of the show, from Wednesday, May 28, to Saturday, May 31, at the Javits Convention Center.

BookExpo America has revealed the titles and authors selected for the 2014 Adult, Young Adult, and Middle Grade Editors Buzz Forums and Author Stage appearances.

Every store in good standing that makes a reservation by March 31 at the Grand Hyatt New York, the exclusive hotel for ABA member booksellers at BEA 2014, will be entered into a random drawing for free hotel nights, courtesy of BEA.
