ABA programming at BookExpo America will once again provide booksellers with two unique opportunities to network with publishers. Last year’s popular “Meet the Editor” is returning, and new this year is “Publicists Speed Dating.”

BookExpo America has announced the titles to be featured at this year’s adult, YA, and middle grade Editors’ Buzz Forums.

Publishers Weekly has released the shortlists for its 2015 PW Bookstore and Sales Rep of the Year Awards. This year’s five finalists for Bookstore of the Year include general indies from the West, Midwest, and South.

ABA member booksellers who have not attended BookExpo America since 2012 have just a few days left to fill out an application for a chance to win one of 60 BEA Scholarships of $435 each.

On Monday, BookExpo America announced the speakers for the Adult Book & Author Breakfast to be held on Thursday, May 28, at the 2015 trade show.

Tony Award-winner Nathan Lane will be the Master of Ceremonies at the 2015 BookExpo America Children’s Breakfast on Friday, May 29. Lane will be joined on the panel by illustrator Oliver Jeffers and authors Rainbow Rowell and James Patterson.

BookExpo America 2015 will begin at noon on Wednesday, May 27, with an interview of bestselling author Jonathan Franzen by book critic and columnist Laura Miller, the co-founder of Salon.com.

The Grand Hyatt New York, located at 42nd Street and Grand Central Station, will once again be the exclusive hotel for ABA member booksellers attending BookExpo America.

The organizers of BookExpo America 2015 are inviting ABA member booksellers who have not attended the trade show since 2012 to fill out an application to win one of 60 BEA Scholarships of $435 each to help defray hotel and travel costs to the show.

Registration for BookExpo America 2015 is now officially open, and once again all ABA member stores are eligible to receive free admission to the BEA exhibit hall and BEA conference sessions. In addition, ABA member booksellers who have not attended the event in the last two years now have the opportunity to win one of 60 BEA Scholarships to help defray their hotel and travel costs.

Registration for BookExpo America 2015 is scheduled to open by December 4, and for ABA member booksellers who have not attended the trade show in the last two years there will be an added incentive to make plans to attend.

BEA is inviting exhibiting publishers to submit proposals for the 2015 trade show’s Adult Editors’ Buzz, Young Adult Editors’ Buzz, and Middle Grade Editors’ Buzz by December 5.

Two auctions of children’s book art held in conjunction with this year’s BookExpo America have raised more than $56,000 to help the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression defend the free speech rights of kids.

BEA show director Steve Rosato has announced “some substantive yet subtle changes” for BookExpo America and BookCon 2015 that are aimed at better serving the vast majority of those vested in either event.
