Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, is asking independent bookstores to offer their visions for a bookstore/campus store associated with the college.

 Indies First was widely embraced in communities across the country this past Saturday, with customers turning out, sometimes in droves, to meet authors who had signed on to become booksellers for all or part of the day at their local independent bookstores.

Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe, Arizona, has launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for a new bookstore/bar to be located in central Phoenix. Local artists have designed special merchandise featuring classic literary characters, including Frankenstein’s Monster and Moby Dick, as rewards for donors.

Spellbound Children’s Bookshop has just completed its move to a new location in Asheville, North Carolina, and owner Leslie Hawkins said the store is settling in for good. On October 26, she hosted a party to celebrate the store’s grand opening, its ninth anniversary, and Halloween all rolled into one.
