ABA 101: Navigating BookWeb.org
- By Emily Behnke
ABA 101 is a new series aimed at introducing booksellers to the basics of the American Booksellers Association’s operations.
Below are some of the key places on BookWeb.org, ABA’s website, where booksellers can find education resources, help documents, marketing assets, and more.
The Homepage: What You Need to Know
BookWeb.org’s homepage showcases some of the most important information booksellers may want to quickly access. Beneath the navigational tab at the top of the page is a carousel featuring upcoming events, like the IndieCommerce Institute, as well as time-sensitive information, such as current coronavirus resources.
For Booksellers
By hovering over the For Booksellers tab on the homepage, booksellers can find education resources, the IndieCommerce Help Center, Marketing Assets, and more.
Here is a closer look at some of those pages:
Education Resources
On the Education Resources page, members can access recordings of ABA’s educational programming as well as handouts. Some resources are only visible to logged-in ABA bookseller members. To navigate, booksellers can select a category from the subjects listed across the top of the page. Booksellers can refine their seach by using the following filter options: sub-topic, format, and conference.
IndieCommerce Help Center
Under IndieCommerce & IndieLite, booksellers can access the IndieCommerce Help Center, as well as the IndieLite Help Center, which both feature help documents, webinars, training videos, and more.
Marketing Assets
On the Marketing Assets page, booksellers can find assets for seasonal campaigns, IndieBound designs, logos, and more.
Member Resources
Booksellers looking for more information about promotional programs and resources, such as bi-monthly box mailings, can go to the General Member Resources page.
Events
By hovering over the Events tab on the homepage, Booksellers can find information about Winter Institute, Children’s Institute, the Spring Forums, Fall Trade Shows, and IndieCommerce Institute.
ABA Events Calendar
ABA’s At-a-Glance Calendar, which highlights upcoming education events, can also be found in the Events tab.
