Twenty-two booksellers have been awarded publisher-sponsored scholarships to attend the American Booksellers Association's second annual Winter Institute in Portland, Oregon. The scholarships cover airfare and hotel accommodations at the Doubletree Portland-Lloyd Center, the host hotel for the February 1 and 2 education event.

"We are very grateful to our Publisher Sponsors for providing funds for scholarships to the second Winter Institute," said Mark Nichols, director of Book Sense Marketing. "Providing the means for booksellers who might not otherwise be able to attend is a clear example of the esteem in which independents are held by publishers, and ABA is pleased to be able to facilitate such an opportunity."

The booksellers below join the winners of three scholarships previously awarded by ABA: Lisa Sharp of Nightbird Books in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Miah Olmsted of Back to Books in Hudson, Wisconsin, the the grand prize winners of ABA's regional trade show raffles; and Jessica Stockton of McNally Robinson in New York City, the recipient of an ABA-sponsored Emerging Leaders Scholarship.
