Thirty-Nine Authors and Illustrators to Appear at Children’s Institute

The impressive list of authors and illustrators appearing at the ABC Children’s Institute, on April 6 – 7 in San Antonio, Texas, has grown. There are now 39 authors and illustrators scheduled to appear at various events, including plenaries, keynote presentations, educational sessions, and receptions.

Recently added to the roster for the Closing Author Reception were:

  • Nate Ball, Alien in My Pocket: Blast Off! (HarperCollins Children’s Books)
  • Lisa T. Bergren, Remnants: Season of Wonder (Zondervan, dist. by Ingram Publishing Services)
  • Kami Garcia, Dangerous Creatures (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers)
  • Adele Griffin, The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone (Soho Teen)
  • Alaya Dawn Johnson, The Summer Prince (Scholastic)
  • Lisa Schroeder, The Bridge from Me to You (Scholastic)
  • Joe Shine, I Become Shadow (Soho Teen)
  • Rebecca Stefoff, The Third Chimpanzee for Young People (Triangle Square Books for Young Readers / Seven Stories Press)
  • Margaret Stohl, Dangerous Creatures (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers)
  • Emma Williams,The Story of Hurry (Triangle Square Books for Young Readers / Seven Stories Press)

Additionally, four authors will appear at the Scholastic Meet & Treat After Party on Sunday night: Jim Benton, The End (Almost); Varian Johnson, The Great Greene Heist; Trent Reedy, Divided We Fall; and Deborah Wiles, Book Two, Revolution.

Booksellers should also note that the Institute has reached maximum capacity. Registered booksellers who are no longer planning to attend the sold-out event are asked to contact ABC Group Manager Matthew Zoni so that booksellers on the waiting list may attend.
