As part of Publishers Weekly's (PW) new policy of offering complimentary subscriptions to qualified booksellers throughout North America, the publisher is inviting ABA member booksellers to sign up by completing an online qualification form.

This is the first time in the history of Publishers Weekly that the magazine is being offered free, as a controlled circulation publication, to qualified book retailers.

"In our ongoing mission to better serve the bookselling community, PW is pleased to extend this program to ABA qualified members as integral members of the publishing community," said PW Associate Publisher Cevin Bryerman.

ABA COO Oren Teicher noted, "ABA is delighted to be working with Publishers Weekly to help put copies of the magazine into the hands of our members. We believe maximizing our members' access to as many sources of information as possible helps stores remain competitive in today's challenging retail environment."

For purposes of the program, PW defines booksellers as:

  • Anyone who chooses, selects, or places books in a retail establishment
  • Anyone who manages a book category within a retail establishment
  • Anyone who owns or operates a bookselling establishment

Current PW subscribers will be asked to complete a qualification form upon the expiration of their current subscription, in lieu of a renewal payment.
