New Promotional Materials for Small Business Saturday, Indies First Now on BookWeb

With Small Business Saturday and Indies First fast approaching on November 28, the American Booksellers Association has made new images available in BookWeb’s Design & Downloads to help participating bookstores ramp up their publicity efforts.

Found under “DIY” in BookWeb.org’s Designs & Downloads section, booksellers can access American Express Small Business Saturday promotional materials such as logos, web banners, and other promotional images, including one featuring the #indiesfirst hashtag that is sized for Facebook.

Booksellers will also find Indies First promotional materials, including logos, web banners, sample press releases, and images sized for Facebook and Twitter, to help them promote the third annual celebration of Indies First on Small Business Saturday.

When it comes to social media materials, IndieBound.org will be putting up sample posts about Indies First on its Facebook and Twitter feeds regularly throughout the month of November, which will be ready to share and retweet. Booksellers are also encouraged to “like” IndieBound on Facebook (and on Twitter @indiebound) for #indiesfirst updates and to post and tweet about Small Business Saturday as part of their Indies First social promotion.

As Small Business Saturday draws near, booksellers should also note that November 9 is the last chance to visit American Express’ website to sign up to be a Neighborhood Champion and receive shopping bags, balloons, and other promotional items. Store enrollment in the Neighborhood Champion program closes Monday; items are available while supplies last.

Booksellers should also remember to add their Indies First events to the Indies First Activity Registry so they will appear on the Indies First map on IndieBound.org. This step is necessary even if a store appeared on the map last year.
