July is Disability Pride Month

July is Disability Pride Month, marking the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act passing into law in 1990. The month is dedicated to celebrating people with disabilities, increasing visibility, and fighting ableism.

We’re starting this month’s Disability Pride coverage with a list of books written by disabled authors! Some authors on this list have visible disabilities. Many of them use mobility aids. Others on the list have invisible disabilities, like chronic illnesses or neurodivergence. But all of them have chosen to share their experiences through their stories.

Composed entirely of 2023 titles, we included a few to look forward to so you can continue to uplift disabled authors year-round.
