IndieCommerce: SEO Tips From ICI, One-on-One Appointments at Ci4 & More
The May 20 edition of IndieCommunication features videos of SEO expert Max Thomas, who recently spoke at the IndieCommerce Institute; a reminder about scheduling appointments to meet with IndieCommerce staff at the Children’s Institute; a note about claiming funds from online credit card orders by labeling orders “complete”; and a message from Kobo President and CEO Michael Tamblyn.
Rank High in Local Search Results
Twenty ABA member stores attended the 2016 IndieCommerce Institute (ICI) at the Drake Hotel in Chicago on May 10, just prior to the start of BookExpo America, where guest speaker Max Thomas, CEO of ThunderActive, discussed how independent bookshops can optimize their websites’ listings for local online searches.
Three videos from Thomas’ presentation can be viewed in the IndieCommerce Webinar Center at BookWeb.org. The videos provide insights into how ABA members can drive traffic and sales to their websites from local search results.
IndieCommerce One-on-One Appointments at Ci4 in Orlando
Booksellers should sign up now for free one-on-one IndieCommerce appointments at the ABC Children’s Institute in Orlando. Sessions will take place on Tuesday, June 21; Wednesday, June 22; and Thursday, June 23. Time slots are limited, so booksellers are asked to choose multiple options. Appointments will be held in the Hibiscus Room of the Wyndham Orlando Resort International.
An e-mail confirmation with an appointment date and time will be sent prior to the start of Ci4. Booksellers needing to move or cancel an appointment should e-mail [email protected] as soon as possible.
Unclaimed Money?
Booksellers using ABA’s Authorize.net account to process online credit card orders should remember to “complete” orders when they are shipped, so ABA can transfer funds for those orders into a store’s bank account. Orders labeled “payment received” will charge a customer’s credit card, but funds remain in ABA’s holding account until the store “completes” the order. Questions about how to complete online orders can be sent to [email protected].
Kobo CEO Highlights Advantages of Promoting eBooks
In a new video, Kobo President and CEO Michael Tamblyn discusses the marketing and revenue opportunities that Kobo can bring to independent booksellers.
