Booksellers participating in the Book Sense Gift Card program should be on the lookout for a gift from Hyperion: PS, I Love You Book Sense gift cards and presenters. In a letter to Book Sense booksellers, Jane Comins, director of marketing, associate publisher, trade paperbacks, for Hyperion, wrote, "We hope [booksellers] will want to merchandise [these beautifully designed cards] in their stores through Valentine's Day and beyond. They're the perfect way for bookstore patrons to give the joy of reading to someone they love."

There are no fees or costs to booksellers for the cards and the PS, I Love You gift cards are not valid until activated by an authorized bookseller. As with all Book Sense gift cards, the PS, I Love You cards are perfect for display at the counter, in the window, or on a table with books. "You can sell them like any other Book Sense gift card, or use them as part of a promotion," Comins noted.

PS, I Love You, just released in trade paperback, is Cecelia Ahern's bestselling debut novel and a 2004 March/April Book Sense Pick. Among the booksellers who praised the novel was Roberta Rubin of The Book Stall in Winnetka, Illinois, who said, "I love the fresh young voice of Holly and her adventures into a new life after the loss of her husband. She certainly is spunky -- and her moods carried me through the book on a perfect pitch!"

Ahern's second novel, Rosie Dunne, the Number 1 Book Sense Pick for Valentine's Day, was also recently released. Easelback displays highlighting Hyperion's "Everything's Coming Up Rosie!" promotion are in the January White Box, or booksellers can e-mail [email protected] to receive one. Customers can visit RosieDunne.com for a chance to win a dozen pink roses for themselves and a friend.

Booksellers with questions regarding the Hyperion PS, I Love You Gift Card should contact Jill Perlstein, ABA director of marketing, at (800) 637-0037, ext. 1283, or e-mail her at [email protected].

Booksellers are reminded that there is a $0.30 charge for incrementing an already active gift card. To view other Book Sense Gift Card designs, click here.
