Health Insurance Marketplace Reopens February 15
- By Molly Bond
As a member of the American Booksellers Association, booksellers have exclusive access to affordable health coverage options for their families and businesses from ABA’s partner LIG Solutions. If booksellers missed the 2021 Open Enrollment Period for Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage, there are still options in 2021 as things have changed under the Biden Administration.
Starting February 15 through May 15, the federal health insurance marketplace, and most state exchanges, will reopen for a Special Enrollment Period due to the pandemic. This is great news for booksellers, who can now regain access to health insurance options usually limited to General Open Enrollment which ended in mid-December.
Coverage options include*
- Major medical
- Medicare
- Short-term health plans
- Vision
- Dental plans
- Critical care coverage
- Disability
- Life
- Additional supplemental health and wellness options
*Note: Available plans can vary by state and state healthcare regulations
LIG Solutions offers both individual health plans and business health plans (through the Health Reimbursement Arrangement Program) that are tailored to booksellers’ unique health and financial needs. An LIG Solutions advisor will help you review affordable coverage from major insurance carriers across the U.S.
Before the three-month Special Enrollment Period ends on May 15, do the following to get more information:
- Schedule an appointment with a licensed advisor by visiting the ABA/LIG landing page.
- Watch a recording of the ABA/LIG Solutions webinar.
- Read ABA’s frequently asked questions about this health insurance partnership.
If you are a bookseller, please communicate with your manager before purchasing a policy through LIG Solutions as your bookstore may be looking into offering staff a health coverage option.
