Preparations are in high gear for ABA's education sessions at this year's BookExpo America (BEA), which will be held from June 2 - 6 at Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center. Among the many events planned are two very valuable users group meetings -- for BookSense.com and for Book Sense Gift Cards. Both sessions are scheduled for the morning of Friday, June 4, and while their main focus is to address issues of concern to current users, all booksellers are invited to attend to learn more about these important aspects of the Book Sense marketing program.

At the BookSense.com Users Group, which will meet from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in Room 402A, BookSense.com staff will discuss future enhancements to the product, and BookSense.com Director Len Vlahos will lead a Q&A segment, where booksellers' feedback will be gathered to help determine how best to move the program forward. One-on-one meetings with Vlahos or Senior Customer Service Coordinator Scott Nafz may also be scheduled for any time during BEA. To schedule a meeting in advance of the show, booksellers should send an e-mail to Vlahos at [email protected] or Nafz at [email protected].

A Book Sense Gift Card Users Group, meeting from 11:00 a.m. - noon in Room 402B, will include an in-depth review of the program and a discussion about future growth. ABA Marketing Director Jill Perlstein will moderate the session, where booksellers will be asked to share their experiences regarding the operation of the program as well as their marketing ideas. Maurizio DiVito, the CFO of Givex, the gift card program administrator, will be in attendance.

One-on-one meetings to discuss the Book Sense Gift Card Program may also be scheduled for any time during BEA. To schedule a meeting in advance of the show, booksellers should send an e-mail to Perlstein at [email protected].
