Booksellers Invited to Join Exclusive Cover Reveal for Christopher Moore’s “Shakespeare for Squirrels”
On Wednesday, November 13, indie booksellers across the nation will unveil the book jacket for bestselling author Christopher Moore’s upcoming novel, Shakespeare for Squirrels, as part of a widespread cover reveal coordinated by HarperCollins in partnership with the American Booksellers Association.
This is the fourth indie-exclusive cover reveal with HarperCollins, following the reveal of Adam Silvera’s Infinity Son and Eoin Colfer’s Highfire in August as well as Kacen Callendar’s Felix Ever After in October.
Shakespeare for Squirrels, a murder mystery take on the Bard’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, will be published by William Morrow in May 2020; as part of the cover reveal initiative, booksellers can invite customers to pre-order the book through their stores.
While supplies last, HarperCollins is making available 10-copy signed cartons that include 10 sheets of glow-in-the-dark stickers of stars and character silhouettes, adapted from the cover art, which can be used as a pre-order incentive or a gift-with-purchase.
Moore is the author of 16 previous novels, including Noir, Secondhand Souls, Sacré Bleu, Fool, and Lamb.
Booksellers can sign up by Tuesday, November 12, to participate in the Shakespeare for Squirrels cover reveal. HarperCollins will provide everything participating stores need to help them easily spread the message.
Stores should plan to share the final cover on social media starting at 12:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 13. Cover art and pre-order graphics will be sent to participating booksellers the day before.
Details about the cover reveal and pre-order campaign are also available on ABA’s Pre-order Calendar on BookWeb.
