Registration is underway for the American Booksellers Association’s 8th annual Children’s Institute (Ci8), which is open to booksellers at all ABA member stores.

This year’s educational sessions will focus on the areas of store operations, finances, events, management, and special topics. See the complete Ci8 program here.

All booksellers are encouraged to review the program and consider sharing their expertise as a panelist at Children’s Institute. Panelists are especially needed for the following sessions:

  • Events in Small Spaces
  • Sensory Story Times for Neurodivergent Customers
  • Crossover Books for Inbetweeners

Booksellers can send details about their specialties to Children’s Group Manager Gen de Botton, who will be in touch if such expertise coincides with planned programming

The 8th annual Children’s Institute will take place June 22–24, 2020, at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. The conference fee is $139 per bookseller, with a maximum of five booksellers per ABA member company.

Questions about the institute should be directed to [email protected]. For booksellers who are making travel plans, see ABA’s resource page about the coronavirus outbreak. Booksellers may cancel their Children’s Institute registration at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancellations received prior to May 1 are eligible for a full refund of registration fees.
