Booksellers can visit BookWeb.org’s Marketing Assets section to download promotional materials for the Super Summer Reading Challenge, the centerpiece of this year’s ABC Children’s Group summer reading program.A version of the Super Summer Reading Challenge coloring activity, to be distributed to readers by indie stores.

Rather than focusing on what to read, this year’s challenge focuses on how to read. This year’s activity sheets challenge readers to try out reading in a variety of different ways, including:

  • On vacation
  • In your pajamas
  • To a friend
  • Upside down on the couch
  • While standing on one leg

Readers can pick up the coloring activity at their local independent bookstore.

The Super Summer Reading Challenge materials on BookWeb feature four colorfully designed versions of the activity sheet, including a blank version for bookstores to adapt/personalize and create their own version of the challenge, along with corresponding bookmarks. Upon completion of each activity, readers can bring their bookmarks to participating indies to be stamped. There is space on each of the promotional materials for store-specific branding.

The entire collection of the ABC Group’s Super Summer Reading Challenge can be downloaded from BookWeb’s Marketing Assets page now. The summer reading program is open to all ABA member bookstores.

Booksellers with questions about the program should contact ABC Children’s Group Manager Gen de Botton.
