ABA's Shelf-Talkers Feature and Bookstore Showcase Highlight Member Stores
- By Liz Button
Bookstores that would like to be featured individually on the American Booksellers Association’s website, BookWeb.org, are encouraged to submit their own content for inclusion, including shelf-talker images and pictures of their store.
The American Booksellers Association’s homepage, BookWeb.org, features a “Bookstore Showcase” section that highlights independent bookstore members that are active on Instagram.
The section includes:
- The featured store’s logo
- A brief description of the store and its URL
- A link to follow the store on Instagram
- Three photos from the store’s Instagram feed
Bookstores that would like to appear in the showcase can click on the “Tell Us About Your Store” button, then send in at least three store photos (such as interior, exterior, with customers, or with staff), a short description/store blurb of no more than 150 words, and a link to the store’s Instagram page.
Visit BookWeb.org now to check out the current featured store, Writer’s Block Bookstore in Winter Park, Florida, and to submit your store to be showcased in the coming weeks.
In addition, the “For Booksellers” landing page on BookWeb.org includes a section for “Featured Shelf-talkers.” By clicking the page’s “Submit Your Own” button, booksellers can send in images of actual shelf-talkers from their stores as well as a transcription of the text. Booksellers will enter the store name, ABA ID, city, state, the name of the bookseller submitting, their e-mail address and job title, and include the appropriate images.
Booksellers with questions about either the “Bookstore Showcase” or the “Featured Shelf-talkers” section on the ABA website can contact ABA Content Director Sydney Jarrard via e-mail.
