The American Booksellers Association will be at the September 28 - 30 New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association Fall Conference to share details on Kobo, the new e-book solution for member stores; meet with booksellers about their concerns; and provide updates on ABA programs and initiatives. Joining booksellers at the show at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia, will be ABA CEO Oren Teicher, Senior Program Officer Joy Dallanegra-Sanger, Content Officer Dan Cullen, and Member Relationship Manager Kaitlin Pitcher.

On Saturday, the 29th, from 9:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., ABA will present the education session “E-Books and Independent Bookstores.” This program will provide an in-depth introduction to Kobo, the digital solution available to all member stores through a partnership between ABA and Kobo, announced this week.

In addition, ABA will be staffing a booth on the trade show floor, where booksellers will learn more about how they can sell Kobo e-books and e-readers and how they can participate in a unique way in Small Business Saturday this November. The booth will also feature information on ABA’s first-ever Events Specialty Institute to be held this October in Minneapolis, and about the Eighth Annual Winter Institute to be held in Kansas City, Missouri, in February 2013.

Booksellers who drop off a business card at the ABA booth will earn an extra entry in a sweepstakes to win a Wi8 scholarship, covering up to four nights’ accommodations at the host hotel, a maximum of $350 in travel expenses, and the $75 Wi8 meal fee.

Complete trade show details are available on the NAIBA website.

Booksellers with questions about ABA’s participation at the NAIBA show should contact Kaitlin Pitcher via e-mail or at (800) 637-0037, ext. 6666.
