Discount Tickets Available for The Year of Magical Thinking on Broadway

Discount tickets for Joan Didion's play, The Year of Magical Thinking, are available for booksellers attending BookExpo America, courtesy of Vintage Books. The play, which stars Vanessa Redgrave, is based on Didion's National Book Award-winning memoir of the same name. The Year of Magical Thinking, at Broadway's Booth Theatre, includes additional material based on events occurring after the book's publication.

Two U.S. Booksellers to Be Featured in New IBF Calendar

Building on the success of its first Unique Bookstores calendar in 2007, the International Booksellers Federation (IBF) is now offering a 2008 calendar, including 48 photographs of bookshop interiors taken in 21 IBF member countries around the word. Among the featured stores are two from the U.S.: Maria's Bookshop in Durango, Colorado, and St. Johns Booksellers in Portland, Oregon.

Forum & Education Program in Illinois on Tuesday

The American Booksellers Association hopes to see booksellers at a Booksellers Forum and Education Program to be held in conjunction with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association in Aurora, Illinois, on March 20. The program, hosted by ABA Board member Becky Anderson of Anderson's Bookshops, will run from 9:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Anderson's Book Fairs warehouse in Aurora.

Booksellers Forum Tour Heads to Louisville

On Tuesday, April 10, the American Booksellers Association will be holding a Booksellers Forum and Education Program in conjunction with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association (GLBA) and the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) at the Louisville Marriott Downtown (home of ABA's 2008 Winter Institute) in Louisville, Kentucky. Registration starts at 9: 45 a.m., and the program will run from 10:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
