Obituary: Nancy Stitchberry Farley
Nancy Stitchberry Farley, co-owner of Farley’s Bookshop in New Hope, Pennsylvania, died on September 23 at the age of 73.
Formerly an elementary school teacher, Nancy founded the bookshop with her husband, Jim, in 1967. She developed and managed the children’s book section, as well as cards and gifts, and influenced many children along the way by always finding the perfect title to recommend.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, James H. Farley, and is survived by her daughters, Jennifer and Rebekah; her brother, Thomas Stitchberry; and extended family.
A memorial service was held last Friday at the Quaker Meetinghouse in Solebury, Pennsylvania, and a reception followed at Farley’s Bookshop. The Farley and Stitchberry families have suggested that donations in Nancy’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011 or (800) 272-3900.
