Steve Rosato, event director for BookExpo America, announced today via his blog, The Bean, that the trade show will return to a three-day format in 2011.

Rosato said that he "could not have hoped, planned, or imagined for a better event this week than what has unfolded for BEA 2010." While people liked the two-day format, he said, "a lot of people genuinely need three days to meet their objectives at BEA." Rosato explained that BEA was committed to quality versus quantity, but there was only so much people could accomplish in two full days. He added, "We will always do what will make BEA the best event possible for the people we serve."

BEA 2011 will remain mid-week, with the trade show open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. "My plan right now is to keep the conference program on Monday," said Rosato, " because the impact of the conference this year, running on Tuesday without competing with the show floor, was tremendous."
