Twenty-eight booksellers have been named the recipients of publisher-sponsored scholarships to the American Booksellers Association's Fourth Annual Winter Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. The scholarships cover reasonable transportation costs and up to a three-night stay at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown, for the Thursday, January 29, through Sunday, February 1, education event, open exclusively to ABA bookstore and provisional members.

ABA also awarded one Emerging Leaders scholarship and one scholarship to a bookseller chosen at random from among those who dropped off a business card at the association's booth at the fall regional trade shows. The Northern California Independent Booksellers Association named the recipient of a Winter Institute scholarship sponsored by Random House in memory of longtime sales rep Susan Reiheld.

"Thanks to the generosity of our Publisher Partners, today we can announce the recipients of this year's Winter Institute scholarships," said ABA Chief Program Officer Len Vlahos. "We hope all ABA members will join us in thanking these publishers for their continued support of our educational efforts. Special thanks goes to Ingram Book Company and Ingram Publisher Services for their overall support of the Winter Institute and ABA's other education efforts for the next three years."
