Even with a 15 percent increase in the registration cap, the American Booksellers Association’s 11th annual Winter Institute (Wi11) reached capacity in record time last week. Registration opened on Wednesday afternoon, September 9, to all ABA bookstore and provisional members and was fully booked by early Friday morning, September 11.

Booksellers can now add their names to a registration waitlist here; those on the list will be notified on a first-come, first-served basis if space becomes available. Registered booksellers who are no longer planning to attend are asked to notify ABA as soon as possible so waitlisted booksellers can take their places.

The Winter Institute host hotel, the Sheraton Denver Downtown, is also now fully booked. Booksellers who add their names to the hotel waitlist, available here, will be notified on a first-come, first-served basis if rooms become available. The ABA member rate is $119 per night, plus tax and other charges.

Wi11 registrants who wish to cancel hotel reservations or have their names removed from the waitlist should contact ABA Meetings & Planning Officer Jill Perlstein. Canceled rooms will be offered to waiting booksellers.

The 2016 Winter Institute will be held in Denver, Colorado, from Saturday evening, January 23, through Tuesday, January 26. The institute is made possible by support from lead sponsor Ingram Content Group and from publishers large and small.
