With airfare at its lowest point in nearly a decade, now is an ideal time for booksellers who haven't already booked their flights to the ABA Winter Institute in Salt Lake City to shop around for the best prices. Airfares recently available via Orbitz.com and other discount travel services included a $158 (plus taxes and fees) from Los Angeles, $218 from New York, and $169 from Seattle.

The cost of hopping a taxi from the Salt Lake City International Airport to the Wi4 host hotel, the Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown is about $15 (plus tip). Taxi service booths are located in the baggage claim areas outside Door #7 in Terminal One and Door #11 in Terminal Two. All Resort, City Cab, Ute Cab, and Yellow Cab are the major cab companies.

ABA has arranged a special rate of $8 per person with All Resort Transportation Service, and reservations can be made in advance. The $8 rate is per person for a shared ride. If two or more people are traveling together, it might cost the same or less to pick up a cab at the airport.

Salt Lake features a light rail system called TRAX, and there's a "Free Fare Zone," which encompasses the Downtown Marriott. Complete schedule information and other details about TRAX are available on the Utah Transportation Authority website. Light rail service is not available at the airport.

Downloadable maps of the airport, car rental information, and more is available on the Salt Lake City International Airport website.

Parking is available at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at the rate of $2 per hour or $12 daily. Valet parking is $15 daily. Off-site parking is also available; details are available from the hotel.
