Wanted: Indie Recommendations for a Green List

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Broad consumer interest in our environment has never been higher. Not surprisingly, this is translating into increased activity on the part of publishers.

To compile a selection of notable titles dealing with the environment -- everything from how to modify personal and business practices to conserve resources and cut carbon emissions to titles focusing on public policy -- the American Booksellers Association is asking booksellers to recommend books for a "Green List."

Modeled after the successful "Shop Local" list of notable titles, which was compiled from the recommendations of indie booksellers, the Green List will be a selection of titles -- new and backlist, hardcover and paperback -- that booksellers believe are of both immediate and lasting value.

Booksellers are asked to e-mail nominations for the Green List to Dan Cullen, ABA senior director of editorial content, at [email protected] and include the words "green list" in the subject line. The deadline for submissions to the Green List is Friday, March 28.
