Two Picks Deadlines Imminent

There are two important Book Sense Picks nomination deadlines in the next fortnight:

• September 1 -- November Book Sense Picks
• September 8 -- Book Sense History Top Ten

The History Top Ten, which is being compiled in conjunction with The History Channel, will feature titles about empires throughout history. The list will be released in October, when The History Channel launches a weekly series, "Engineering an Empire," focusing on the architectural triumphs of great civilizations.

Booksellers are encouraged to nominate titles about the building of history's great empires, either in hardcover or paperback, frontlist or backlist.

Nominations for both the November Picks and the History Top Ten may be e-mailed to [email protected], or they may be submitted via the electronic nomination form on ABA's trade website, BookWeb.org.

Please include the word "Picks" in the subject line of the e-mail.
