Swipe Fee Settlement Update

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

On Thursday, December 4, the American Booksellers Association e-mailed association member bookstores with updated information regarding a recent notice from the Visa/MasterCard interchange class settlement administrator that was received by many stores.

Bookstores that had opted out of the Visa and MasterCard credit card swipe fee settlement class action in 2013 were informed in the notice that they had an opportunity to rejoin the cash settlement class.

Bookstore members with any questions for ABA regarding the Visa/MasterCard settlement or who wish to see an example of the Notice to Rejoin the Class Settlement form should contact David Grogan, ABA senior public policy analyst, at [email protected] or at (800) 637-0037, ext. 7562.

For more on the Visa/MasterCard settlement, click here. The Class Action website can be found at paymentcardsettlement.com. (Note: The settlement website is out-of-date and does not reflect any of the current information as explained in the notice. And while it is a good source to learn about the case, booksellers should note that the information in the e-mail from ABA is current. The information on the website is not.)
