On Thursday, June 20, the American Booksellers Association will present “Offering Printing & Publishing Services To Your Local Community,” the last in a series of three Marketing Meetups focusing on topics related to IngramSpark, the print-on-demand book publishing service and e-book distribution tool.

During the Marketing Meetup on Thursday, June 20, at 11:00 a.m. EDT, booksellers will hear from two independent bookstores that are utilizing current printing and publishing technologies to offer full-service printing, publishing, and author services to their local author communities.

Booksellers will learn how to start a printing and publishing program open to the public; how to build a network of local service providers to help with service offerings; the importance of a dedicated publishing director to manage the service; and working the bookstore’s consignment program into this new publishing program.

Guest speakers for this upcoming meetup will be Paul Hanson of Village Books in Bellingham, Washington, and Haley Chung of Politics & Prose in Washington, D.C., both of whom will discuss the robust, full-service printing and publishing programs they offer to their local communities. The conversation will be guided by Josh Floyd, manager of business development for IngramSpark.
