This is a reminder to ABA members that the September Red Box included a sales tax fairness window cling that can be easily displayed on a storefront window or any glass surface. As the U.S. House of Representatives considers the issue of sales tax fairness, it is more important than ever for booksellers and other small retailers to show that small businesses support the issue.

The window cling states: “Support Local Business: Support Sales Tax Fairness.”

“The window cling is a visually powerful way to show your customers as well as local, state, and federal lawmakers that the sales tax fairness issue is important to small businesses,” said ABA Senior Public Policy Analyst David Grogan. “We especially urge stores in the Virginia, Washington, D.C., or Maryland area to post these clings in high-profile areas, as it can send a very clear message that the time to level the playing field is now.”

Bookstores that need a sales tax fairness window cling should contact Grogan via e-mail at [email protected] and include their mailing address.
