Booksellers are invited to meet Scholastic authors and illustrators and enjoy drinks and dessert at the Scholastic Meet & Treat After Party at Winter Institute in Denver, Colorado, on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

Scholastic’s Director of Marketing Bess Braswell said the publisher’s annual Meet & Treat After Party has become one of their favorite opportunities to chat with booksellers.

“This year, we’ve got an incredible lineup of authors attending and offering ‘book toasts,’” said Braswell. “General buyers will know and love Luanne Rice from her bestselling books for adults, and we’re excited to debut her first book for teens. Author Sharon Robinson, a featured commentator in Ken Burns’ upcoming documentary about her father, Jackie Robinson, has a new book about her father’s friendships across cultural divides. Mark Teague, beloved author and illustrator, will show art from his new picture book, The Pirate Jamboree. And, we’re thrilled to introduce debut talent Goldy Moldavsky, Indies Introduce author of the darkly comic Kill the Boy Band.”

The Scholastic party will take place from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House, located at 14th and Curtis Street in the Galleria of the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

Forthcoming titles from the participating authors are:

  • The Secret Language of Sisters, Luanne Rice’s first book for teens, to be published on February 23, 2016.
  • The Pirate Jamboree, written and illustrated by Mark Teague, to be published April 26, 2016.
  • The Hero Two Doors Down: A Story of Friendship Between a Boy and a Baseball Legend, written by Sharon Robinson about her father, Jackie Robinson, to be published January 26, 2016.
  • Kill the Boy Band, a Winter/Spring Indies Introduce title by debut author Goldy Moldavsky, publishing February 23, 2016.
