Booksellers and publishers attending Winter Institute 2016 have until this Friday, November 13, to register themselves, as well as their families and friends, for the Après Institute Ski Trip to the Rockies’ Copper Mountain resort.

“The mountains are calling. And when you’ve gotten all the way to Denver for Winter Institute, you’ll kick yourself for ignoring the siren call of the Colorado high country,” said Nicole Magistro of The Bookworm of Edwards last week in a letter to her fellow Winter Institute attendees.

The all-day excursion on Wednesday, January 27, costs $130 per person and includes lift tickets and round-trip bus transportation from the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel to the resort, 75 miles west of Denver. An equipment rental discount code and rental instructions will be provided to confirmed guests via e-mail prior to the trip. Meals are not included.

For those who aren’t into downhill skiing, the resort offers tubing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. And, Magistro wrote, “If sipping champagne next to a roaring fire is your idea of enjoying the mountains, the trip offers close proximity to some great indie restaurants, including Butterhorn Bakery and Cafe, Vinny’s Euro American Restaurant, and Sugar Lips Mini Donuts.”

Read Magistro’s letter in full here; then register for the trip to Copper Mountain.

The American Booksellers Association reserves the right to cancel the trip by November 13 if the bus is not booked to capacity. Refunds will only be given if the trip is cancelled.
