Pre-BEA Membership Offer Now Available

The American Booksellers Association has created a special pre-BookExpo America membership offer for those who join ABA as a New Bookseller Member prior to May 17, the beginning of the trade show. Along with all that ABA offers -- including the ABA Book Buyer's Handbook and ABA's many business management services -- New Bookseller Members who join prior to BookExpo will receive these additional benefits:
- Pay the reduced ABA Member Bookseller BEA registration cost;
- Enjoy Joint Membership in both ABA and a regional booksellers association; and
- Enter a drawing for a Scholarship to ABA's Winter Institute 2007.
"The pre-BEA offer is one in a series of marketing campaigns -- such as to Spanish-language stores and college stores to name just two -- that communicates the value of ABA to potential members," said Meg Smith, ABA director of Membership Marketing/Media Relations. "We've been quite gratified, both for the association and the state of bookselling, to hear from new members and new stores on a regular basis."
For those who would like to join ABA, but who have already registered for BEA, ABA will arrange a refund of the difference between the registration amount paid for BEA as a nonmember and that of attending as an ABA Member Bookseller. This will be available for any individual prospective bookseller or all store staff registered to attend the convention ($45 refund for three-day pass, $30 refund for one-day pass).
In addition, when a bookseller joins ABA, the association will pay one year of regional association membership dues for the store. And, ABA will enter New Bookseller Members in the drawing for a scholarship to ABA's Winter Institute 2007. (The institute presents exclusive educational programming, by invitation only, for ABA Member Booksellers.)
