The American Booksellers Association has teamed up with Biblio.com to offer a new affiliate program that enables member stores to give their website visitors instant access to millions of used, rare, and out-of-print books from more than 5,000 independent booksellers worldwide.

To join the affiliate program, bookstores do not have to list books on Biblio, but they do have to be active ABA members.

“Biblio was founded to help independent booksellers who specialize in used, rare, and out-of-print books extend their reach and find new customers online,” said Brendan Sherar, CEO and founder of Biblio.com. “For years, we have admired ABA’s work on behalf of independent bookstores. We are excited at this opportunity to work with ABA to help strengthen the competitiveness of independent sellers of new and used books, both online and in their shops.”

“The flexibility of ABA’s partnership with Biblio is particularly exciting,” said ABA Member Technology Director Neil Strandberg. “Not only is the affiliation open to members whether or not they sell used books, but participating stores can also feature their own used book inventory, the used book inventory of their indie colleagues, or the entire Biblio seller community — it’s up to the store. We’re happy to make this program available to both used bookstores and stores without a used book inventory that want to give their customers the option of buying used, rare, and out-of-print books.”

Participating stores will link to Biblio’s inventory through a banner placed in their website sidebar. When customers shop on Biblio.com, they will clearly see store branding in a customizable banner at the top of their screen, and a link at the top of Biblio’s website will take customers back to their independent store’s homepage.

ABA members will receive an eight percent commission (maximum $20) on every order placed on Biblio.com through their website banner. Payments will be sent monthly from Biblio through direct deposit to a store’s account.

To learn more and/or to sign up, visit Biblio’s ABA member page. Banners and search boxes to be placed on store sites will be available soon from Biblio.

Booksellers who are interested in selling their used inventory through Biblio can find more information in Biblio’s listing options.
