Looking at the August Notables & Upcoming Deadlines

The August Book Sense Notables list, with booksellers' quotes, is now available in a downloadable PDF flier on BookWeb.org. The flier includes jacket images, bibliographic information, and bookseller quotes. These additional 20 titles are also featured in an electronic file of shelf-talkers for in-store use.

Also, there's still time to nominate titles for two upcoming Book Sense lists. Many booksellers have already responded, but there's still plenty of opportunity to shape the October Book Sense Picks list and the Halloween/Get Caught Reading Top Ten.

The deadlines for the lists are:

• Friday, August 5, for the October Book Sense Picks list, and
• Friday, August 12, for nominations for the Halloween/Get Caught Reading Top Ten.

For the October Picks list, please nominate titles that you are looking forward to handselling to your customers, especially titles that are being published in late August, September, and early October. Titles for the Picks list can be either hardcover or paperback, and nominations for nonfiction titles are welcomed. (And do let us know if you are nominating for the first time!)

Book Sense will again be working in collaboration with the Association of American Publishers to develop the Halloween/Get Caught Reading Top Ten, and nominations for the list can be either children's or adult trade titles.
