New Webinar on ADA Compliance and Your Website

We all strive to do the right thing for all users and meet federally mandated guidelines. Digital accessibility should be at the forefront of website development, but compliance with the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) guidelines can be difficult. Not to worry: On October 25, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. EST, join ADA expert Art Frick for a webinar in which he deciphers and puts into practice ADA compliance for websites. Since 2012, Frick has been providing training to ensure best practices and accessibility of online assets while developing digital policies, procedures, and technology solutions that advance equality. In this webinar, booksellers will learn the guiding principles of digital accessibility by reviewing and decoding the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (the federal standard for digital accessibility) as well as how to put those guidelines into practice on their bookstore’s website. Sign up for ABA’s webinar on ADA compliance today.

Excuse Me, But You Left Your Shopping Cart on my Website

Do some of your online customers fill up a shopping cart and then “forget” to complete the purchase? A new service for IndieCommerce sites will send an e-mail follow-up to these customers. Users who have items in their cart and have included an e-mail address during checkout will receive a single e-mail reminder to complete the transaction. Increased Security for Credit Card Transactions

Credit cardsIndieCommerce has begun to roll out a new technology from called Accept.js. The upgrade to IndieCommerce sites should be completed by the end of November 2018. Accept.js ensures greater PCI compliance and security for IndieCommerce and IndieLite sites. Sensitive cardholder data, such as the complete credit card number and the card verification value (CVV number), are passed directly to via Accept.js and not stored or “touched” by your website.
