IndieCommerce Introduces Wholesaler Fulfilled Pre-Orders

A new IndieCommerce feature allows stores to send pre-orders to Ingram for direct fulfillment.

In an e-mail to stores on August 16, the IndieCommerce Team noted that two of the biggest benefits of the new feature are speed and convenience, which are especially important in a culture that is increasingly fast paced.

To ensure that customers receive their pre-orders quickly, Ingram will ship titles a day before their release.

Using the new feature is as easy as clicking a button — the “Send Pre-Order to Ingram” button, that is.

The IndieCommerce Team reminds booksellers to keep an eye out for the new option on individual order pages as new fall pre-orders come in. Orders must still meet a specific set of conditions in order to be fulfilled by Ingram. A full breakdown of conditions, instructions, and special cases is available here.
