Important Picks Deadline Reminders

There are two important deadlines this month for the Book Sense Picks program:

• March 24 -- Summer Children's Picks
• March 31 -- Book Sense History Top Ten

The children's list will feature over 65 of independent booksellers' choices as the best titles from the season's books for young readers. The list is an effective marketing tool for several months for general and specialty stores.

The History Top Ten is once again a collaborative effort of Book Sense and The History Channel (THC), and this list will feature titles related to the American Revolution. A new series focusing on the American Revolution will begin on THC during the first weekend in June and will continue weekly on Sunday nights for 13 episodes.

Booksellers are encouraged to send in title nominations for both lists to [email protected]. Booksellers can also nominate titles via a convenient online nomination form. Please note, titles nominated for the History Top Ten can be both fiction and nonfiction, frontlist and backlist, for adults and children.
