Important Announcements From IndieCommerce

The American Booksellers Association has made several announcements regarding its IndieCommerce and BookSense.com products:

1. IndieCommerce Director Ricky Leung has left the association to pursue other opportunities. "We wish Ricky well in his next endeavor," said ABA Chief Operating Officer Len Vlahos, "and thank him for nearly a decade of stellar service." Future inquiries about IndieCommerce should be directed to Senior Customer Service Coordinator Scott Nafz and/or Vlahos.
   
   
2. More than half of the stores from the old BookSense.com legacy system have migrated to the new Drupal-based IndieCommerce platform. It was ABA's original intent to suspend use of the BookSense.com system effective January 1. That deadline has now been extended to March 31, 2010, to allow time for those stores that have not yet moved to set up new sites and receive training.
   
   
3. However, effective January 1, stores still using the old system will no longer have the following services:
   
   
   
   1. Wholesaler fulfillment
   2. E-book sales
   3. National affiliate traffic referrals
      
      

   Basic content management and shopping cart functions will remain uninterrupted until the end of March. All stores on the BookSense.com platform are urged to move to the new system as soon as possible. (Stores on the IndieCommerce system will have no interruption of services.)
   
   

4. Recent weeks have seen the launch of 13 new stores on the IndieCommerce system, including:

   Watchung Booksellers
