A Fall History Top Ten Reminder

In conjunction with fall History Channel programming, the upcoming Book Sense Fall History Top Ten will focus on "DaVinci and Other Forward Thinkers." The goal of the list will be to feature titles -- in nonfiction or fiction, hardcover or paperback -- that profile luminaries in science, art, and industry throughout the ages.

This list will continue the Book Sense Picks association with The History Channel, which has previously featured such topics as JFK and D-Day.

In order to compile the strongest list possible, booksellers are encouraged to e-mail nominations for the History List to Book Sense 76 Editor-in-Chief Dan Cullen at [email protected], with the words "History List" in the subject line of the e-mail. Nominations may also be submitted through the Book Sense 76 nomination form at www.bookweb.org/read/6305.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 26.

The ongoing initiatives with The History Channel have provided significant marketing opportunities for independent booksellers nationwide, and the "DaVinci and Other Forward Thinkers" list should be a useful tool for booksellers in the fall.
