May 11 is the "Early Bird Discount" registration deadline for BookExpo America. After that date, rates will increase for all three-day and one-day passes in all industry categories. For ABA member booksellers, the rate will increase from $75 to $100 for a three-day pass and from $40 to $50 for one-day admission. (A complete schedule of BEA show pass pricing, as well as an electronic registration form, is available via bookexpoamerica.com.)

The BEA trade show runs from Friday, June 1, to Sunday, June 3, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. This year, the American Booksellers Association's full day of education and the Celebration of Bookselling will be held on Thursday, May 31, at Hotel ABA, the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, in Brooklyn, New York.

When registering for BEA, ABA-member booksellers should check "ABA Bookstore Member" under Registration Options. (A member number is required.) In addition, member booksellers who plan to take part in ABA's free full day of education, the "What Are You Reading?" Breakfast, and the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression Lunch on Thursday at Hotel ABA must check the appropriate boxes on the BEA registration form or make reservations via BookWeb.org.

Registration for this year's Hotel ABA, which offers a special rate of $159 per night and a special package of other benefits, is solely through ABA's trade website, BookWeb.org. The hotel is currently full; however, ABA is maintaining a waiting list in case there are cancellations. To get on the waiting list, booksellers should complete the Hotel ABA reservation form.

A block of rooms at the Hotel have been reserved for students at this year's ABA Booksellers School. ABA members who have registered for the school should contact Margaret Nafz at (800) 637-0037 ext. 6614 or e-mail [email protected] to book a room at the hotel. These rooms will only be held aside until May 1. After May 1, ABA member students will need to find alternate hotel accommodations (names will be placed on the waiting list and contacted if a hotel room becomes available).

Booksellers with room reservations at Hotel ABA- Brooklyn who are no longer planning to use them are asked to contact Margaret Nafz as soon as possible so that the rooms can be offered to other booksellers on the waiting list.

Any questions about Hotel ABA should also be addressed to Nafz.
