Beginning October 12, ABA member bookstores can order the brand-new Aura H2O and Glo HD eReaders and accessories directly from a new Kobo corporate site. Devices ordered from Kobo will automatically be affiliated with the member store before leaving Kobo’s warehouse.

All stores in the eReading Program that have previously sold devices will receive an e-mail from Kobo directing them to a URL to activate a new password for the corporate site. Questions about this new opportunity can be addressed to Kobo’s Catherine Villar.

New Kobo promotional designs are available now in ABA’s Designs and Downloads for the Aura H2O and Glo HD, as well as to advertise Kobo’s newly launched eRead Local initiative and Super Points program. Designs include sell sheets for the eReaders and web banners that promote digital downloads of Indie Next List picks.

On or around October 12, new website page copy and images for the Aura H2O and the Glo HD will be added to the DIY to facilitate booksellers in updating the Kobo pages on their store websites.

The website copy will include streamlined text and images as well as linking instructions to direct customers to the Kobo help pages for more information, eliminating the FAQs many members currently have on their sites.

Kobo recently launched a new consumer page on Kobo.com that highlights the many eReading opportunities available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through independent booksellers in the Kobo eReading Program.

The site also points to the eRead Local promotion, which offers readers $5 toward their first eBook purchase within 30 minutes of signing up through an independent bookseller, and to the free Kobo eReading app. A search bar powered by IndieBound allows readers to search for local indie bookstores all throughout the U.S.

The eRead Local program, which runs through November 29, is continuing to attract buzz on Twitter, with recent tweets coming from authors such as James Patterson, who urged followers to participate in the campaign and support their local indie.
