The Christian Science Monitor, an international daily newspaper, recently became one of the newest additions to the list of over 125 publications and websites featuring either a national, regional, or category Book Sense Bestseller List. The newspaper, which has a circulation of 69,000, features the national Book Sense Bestseller List in its Tuesday edition.

"The Book Sense Bestseller List's inclusion in local and national publications helps bolster Book Sense awareness," explained Associate Book Sense Marketing Director Meg Smith. "Booksellers who would like their local publications to feature the list should make the initial contact with the publication and then contact ABA's marketing department and we will follow up".

Smith suggests that booksellers send the prospective publication or website a copy of a recent Book Sense Bestseller List, a Book Sense Picks flier, and the one-page "Attention All Media" flier. The flier summarizes the power of the Book Sense list, explains the basics of Book Sense, and directs all interested media to Smith [[email protected], (914) 591-2665, ext. 6641] for guidelines and details.

To ensure that the Book Sense Bestseller List is as strong and diverse as possible, booksellers are asked to report their sales at least three weeks out of each month. This can be done via one of three methods: BookScan (free to ABA members), ABA upload, or manually at www.BookWeb.org. (For more on the different reporting options, click here.)
